OAN envisions increasing the uptake of sustainable organic products through innovative and ethical provision of networking and certification services that enable national as well global market access in collaboration with accredited authorities.
Objectives
The strategic plan of the association is to empower and aware the local people about the benefits of organic cultivation and consumption. The association ultimately aims to establish an organic food industry on a national as well as a global scale bringing about an “organic revolution.”
The objectives are outlined below:
- To Create a common forum to bring all organic producers, suppliers and consumers together under one roof
- To bring together and unify all organic producers and consumers and create engagement between the two.
- To execute as umbrella organization for the advocacy and public awareness of organic products use and health benefits to human society
- To bring awareness to the people about the harmful effects of insecticides, pesticides, and inorganic fertilizers and educate them on the positives of organic farming.
- Capacity development of organic producers, farmers through skill development training and campaigns. Conduct training, cultivation demonstrations, etc. to the trainers and interested farmers on organic farming, Bio-fertilizer, compost manure, management skills, and practices.
- To establish organic markets in various places, which can facilitate the collection and distribution of organic food and promote local produces.
- To develop common certification standards for organic foods by collaborating with the national authorities (including things like NS mark, logo, organic certification number, etc.)
- To empower producers for certification and network development.
- To develop marketing and business of organic products.
- Capacity development of organic producers, farmers through skill development training and campaigns
- Market promotion of organic products through national and international events
